Simple way to stop people from scraping content off your blog

Once a blog becomes successful it attracts readers as well as scrapers, who like nothing better then to copy your content for free to make money from it. While there is little one can do to stop a committed scraper, there is one simple way which will keep most of the scrapers at bay.

One can do this by limiting the RSS feeds to a summary of the post rather than the full post. To do this, login to your blogs admin panel, go to the options tab, then click on reading and scroll down to Syndication Feeds; in here choose the option Summary.

This will limit the RSS feed to a few lines, while this some may argue is bad for feed readers; I believe this isn’t the case.

After all feeds are mainly utilized by people to sort through various blogs, forums and sites and read what is of their interest. So if some one is really interested in reading the full post, they can click on the post link and come to your blog and read it.

Quite simple right?
